You can be safer, sooner.
What I do: SPEAR Maxims: About Violence:
I teach that your personal protection is your responsibility. I help you meet that responsibility.
I teach you what you can do, not what I can do.
I teach getting home safe, morally, ethically, and legally. I do not teach ‘fighting’.
I teach that YOU are the first fesponder in your fight. EMS, law enforcement, and other career first responders arrive on site much later than they’d like to be; I’m here to help you be your own bodyguard.
I don’t teach fighting. I teach moving to safety. Jail isn’t safe, therefore everything I teach is legally, morally, and ethically congruent with common law.
“Violence doesn’t care what style you practice.” -Coach Tony Blauer
“The biggest hindrance to spontaneous movement in a violent encounter is the over-emphasis of perfect technique.” -Coach Tony Blauer
With respect to sudden violence, your decision to move is more important than how you move.
Watch some recorded nonconsensual violence and look for technique. You may see some in a consensual street fight, but in a predator-victim scenario you’ll see intimidation, fear, mad scrambles and/or primal movement.
You vs. The Court is important, just like You vs. The Bad Guy.
